I was asked to help my client with planting schemes for a series of gardens around their wonderful Georgian house.
Some of the garden spaces are new, some original. They just needed a new wardrobe of plants.
The first area I have designed is a smart entertaining terrace, which needs to look good year round. The planting is designed to frame the terrace, but not to obscure the fantastic views.
A fabulous pink planting scheme, punctuated with box balls and edged with low box hedges, flowers from April to October.
Spring starts with white Narcissi followed by Tulipa ‘Angelique‘, before long flowering pink roses with Alchemilla take over. Aquilegia, Astrantia and Euphorbia herald summer, with a pink Hydrangea paniculata and Anemones continuing the show right through to Autumn (the pictures are October and the planting still going strong).
